A health impact assessment (HIA) was undertaken as part of the Waikato Regional Land Transport Strategy review (2009-2010). It was led by Waikato Regional Council in partnership with Waikato District Health Board Population Health and with the support of community and organisation representatives from across the region. The HIA identified potential health and wellbeing impacts related for vulnerable population groups related to the strategic direction of the draft strategy. The HIA report included recommendations that informed the preparation of the final Waikato Regional Land Transport Strategy (2011-2041). [Link to Regional land Transport Strategy]
