Any operator using the river or the hydro lakes must be aware that the water levels can change without notice. Hydro lakes which do not have a specific schedule in this bylaw include Aratiatia which may vary up to 1.8 metres, Atiamuri 4.0 metres and Waipapa 4.6 metres. When lake levels are low, care must be taken at all times to keep a watch out when entering and exiting boat ramps and for semi-submerged hazards (especially trees and rocks).
